How does title transfer work when I buy a car at auction?
I've never bought a car at auction and I'm nervous about the title. When do I actually get the title in my name? Is it transferred automatically, or do I have to handle it at the DMV myself?

The auction or your Sales Agent will guide the title transfer to your name. You'll receive the signed title with the vehicle (or shortly after), then you register it with your state's DMV using the title, proof of insurance, and a bill of sale. The agent should tell you exactly what's needed.
Keep every document you get. The signed title is the single most important piece of paper in the whole transaction - file it somewhere safe the moment you receive it.
