How long does registration take after buying a car online?
I bought a car online and it's being delivered soon. I'm trying to figure out how quickly I can legally drive it. How long does registration typically take, and can I drive with temporary plates in the meantime?

It varies by state, but many buyers register within a week or two of receiving the title and paperwork. Some states issue temporary or transport tags so you can drive while registration processes. Your Sales Agent can tell you what applies to your state.
Don't drive it unregistered thinking you have a grace period - check your state's rules first. Most DMVs let you schedule an appointment online to speed things up.
