How accurate are multi-point inspection reports, really?
I'm considering buying a car at auction sight-unseen, which only feels safe if the inspection report is honest. For people who've bought this way - how accurate was the report compared to the actual car when it arrived?

In my experience, the reports have been very accurate. Minor wear and scuffs were noted exactly as described. The one time something was off (tire tread), the post-delivery inspection window covered me and the agent arranged a partial refund. Read the report carefully and verify everything after delivery.
The reports are detailed but they're a snapshot, not a guarantee. They can miss slow-developing issues. That's why the 10-day inspection window matters - have your own mechanic look it over when it arrives.
